Zebra Device Configuration Guide for pixi Mobile (Release 26.02)


With the release of version 26.02, pixi Mobile (BETA) reaches General Availability (GA) status and officially replaces the previous pixi Mobile app. As part of this transition, we recommend an optional configuration adjustment for Zebra devices. At the same time, the setup of new devices is also changing in a single step. For a clearer overview, you can find all information on this page.


Existing Devices

During the testing phase of pixi Mobile (BETA), two user groups emerged. Please review the guidance below based on your current configuration.


Group: pixi Mobile (Old)

No changes are required. Your existing configuration will continue to function as expected.

Required Action: None.


Group: pixi Mobile (BETA)

For this group, the PixiWedgeProfile2 should be removed from the device, as it is no longer needed. After this step, no further adjustments are necessary. However, we also recommend deleting the pixi Mobile 2 app to avoid confusion when selecting the app.

Required action: None.

Optional actions: Delete PixiWedgeProfile2 and pixi Mobile 2 from the device.


New Devices (Initial Setup Required)

All new devices intended for use with pixi Mobile require the following configuration steps to ensure proper functionality.


Zebra Device Configuration for Scanning

By default, Zebra devices do not trigger the ENTER command when scanning items or bins. This allows users to review the scanned data before confirming. To enable the ENTER command automatically during scanning, follow these steps:

  1. Open the pixi Mobile app.

  2. Open the DataWedge app.

  3. Navigate to PixiWedgeProfile > Associated Apps.

  4. Tap the three-dot menu and select New App/Activity.

  5. Scroll down and select com.pixi.mobile.

  6. For the activity, select "*" instead of "crc**.MainActivity."

  7. Save the configuration.

The configuration is now complete.
