Lock or Unlock a Supplier

In pixi* Purchasing, you can lock or unlock a supplier. You can lock a supplier in case they have poor delivery quality or many open items. The lock is a temporary state to signal that issues with this supplier should be resolved, or an alternative supplier should be found. To permanently disable a supplier, you can deactivate them.

Important: You cannot order from locked suppliers (change the status of a supplier order from NEW to ORD). You can still create orders for locked suppliers and purchase order suggestions are generated for locked suppliers as well.


To lock or unlock a supplier:

  1. In the navigation, click Purchasing and click Suppliers.

  2. In the list, select and open the supplier you want to lock or unlock.

  3. Click Lock/Unlock Supplier.

  4. Enter a reason for locking the supplier and click OK. Note: No comment is required when you unlock a supplier. This step is skipped.

Changes to the supplier are saved automatically. The supplier is locked or unlocked, and a note specifying the reason is added in the Notes tab when locking a supplier.
