Configure the settings for individual e-mail types in the pixi Control Center under the tab Database Settings > Auto E-mails V2 or set the general options for the sending of e-mails under the tab Auto e-mails.
Sending Options
You can set the general settings for sending e-mails either under the tab Auto e-mails or Database Settings. Settings for sending e-mails can also be customized by e-mail type. For more information, see Sending Options for e-mail Types.
Auto e-mail Tab
To set the general sending options for the pixi auto e-mails, click Settings in this tab. A new window opens, where you can now set the following settings for sending the e-mails:
E-mail sending
Creating system and auto e-mails
Manual sending: Specify whether to create e-mails but send them manually from the Drafts folder (Send all e-mails manually) or whether the e-mails should be sent automatically (send e-mails according to the type settings)
This option can also be used for each e-mail type.Test mode: Here you can set whether e-mails should be sent automatically (send e-mails according to the type settings) or whether all e-mails should be sent to a pre-defined e-mail address (TEST - Send ALL e-mails to test address) to test, for example, newly created e-mail templates.
This option can also be used for each e-mail type.
Database Settings Tab
You can set the general settings as well as the SMTP sending settings in the Auto E-mails V2 folder:
Enable or disable the sending of e-mails
Creation of system- and auto e-mails
Enable or disable the manual sending of e-mails
Enable or disable the test mode
Store SMTP data
Enter the sender name and address as well as the reply-to e-mail address
Auto e-mails - Enable external Sending: If this setting is enabled, auto e-mails do not get send from pixi even if "Auto e-mails - sending enabled" is enabled. If it is disabled, which means that pixi should be responsible for sending e-mails, then the API call pixiGetMailsWaitingToBeSent does not work.
SMTP Settings
SMTP settings for the sending of e-mails can be stored in various places:
in each e-mail template
in each e-mail type
in each Shop/Client configured in pixi under Tables > Shops
in general e-mail settings under Auto e-mails > Settings or under Database Settings > Auto E-mails V2
Above order represents the priority for the use of SMTP data.
General e-mail settings / e-mail types and templates
The user interface is identical for these sections:
SMTP (outgoing) mail server: Enter your SMTP server here if you want to send e-mails via your SMTP server.
Port Number: Enter port 25 for a normal SMTP connection and port 465 for SMTP and SSL.
Server requires a secure connection (SSL): Enable this option if you want to send SSL encrypted e-mails, and if your SMTP server supports or requires this.
-
Server requires authorization: If you need to authenticate to your SMTP server to be able to send e-mails, enable this option.
Username: Enter the user name for authentication.
Password: Enter the password for the corresponding user name. A maximum of 100 characters are available for the password.
Sender name: Enter the name to be displayed to your e-mail recipients as the sender.
Sender e-mail: Enter the e-mail address to be displayed to your e-mail recipients as the sender's address.
E-mail for replies: Enter the e-mail address to be displayed to your recipients as reply-to e-mail address.
Enter data in the fields marked with "*" for the e-mails to be sent out.
Check the connection
You can check the connection to the SMTP server by entering the corresponding data in the fields provided for this purpose and by clicking on Test Connection...
Please note that the connection to entered SMTP server is being checked by the local computer terminal. Under certain circumstances, you may see that the data entered is correct, but pixi does not send e-mails. One possible cause could be the following constellation:
You are a pixi customer and your database is hosted in our data center.
You are running an SMTP server in your home or using a third-party service.
The IP address of the server on which your pixi database is hosted is not in the Whitelist of the SMTP server.
In this case, you have access to the SMTP server from your computer, but the e-mails are sent from the "pixi server", which does not have access to the SMTP server. In this case, no e-mails can be sent.
SMTP settings per Shop / Client
SMTP settings can still be stored per shop. To do this, the following fields must be filled in under Tables > Shops:

Auto E-Mails - E-Mail for Replies: Enter the e-mail address to be displayed to your recipients as reply-to e-mail address.
Auto E-Mails - SSL Encryption: Enable this option, if you want to send your e-mails SSL encrypted and if this is supported by your SMTP server.
