pixi Mobile adds an extensive value to the shipping process with pixi.
Besides collective picking, where items are picked from their respective bins and later on assigned to the appropriate customer orders on Scan-In, pixi Mobile also offers a much easier way of processing items - pick to box. This combines picking and scanning items into one step.
Picklist
With the Picklist program you can open picklists in pixi Mobile which were already created in the pixi Shipping client and take the shown items consecutively from their bins.
Follow these steps to pick items using a picklist:
Choose Picklist program from the list of programs.
-
Scan or enter the Picklist Number or choose the picklist you want to work on from the list of Open Picklists.
In case at least one item of the picklist has already been scanned by any user in the Picklist or Pick to Box programs, the picklist status changes to In Progress.
For every picklist, the picklist number, the number of different items and the selected box range as well as the comment are shown.
To jump to a specific bin group on the picklist, you can scan or enter the picklist number + # + bin group name, e.g. "1234#BinGroupA".
If you open a Picklist again after you have previously closed it, pixi jumps to the item that needs to be scanned next.
Optionally, you can filter the Picklists using the funnel icon.
-
The next screen shows the Bin and the Bin Group, where you need to go to pick the item shown in the Item Info.
If any user already scanned an item of the picklist, the whole picklist is marked as In Progress which is shown as a blue bar at the top.
If any user already scanned the shown item, a green bar is displayed informing the user who scanned the item and when. In case several users scanned the item, always the last scan is displayed.
-
Below the item info additional information are shown:
Picklist Number: Number of the currently opened picklist
Picklist Positions: Number of the remaining positions on the picklist
Confirm that you picked the item by scanning the Item Barcode. You can also swipe (left or right) or use the PREV and NEXT buttons further down to switch between items in this picklist.
You can also remove the currently shown item from the picklist via> Remove item. Partial item quantities can be removed from picklist.
Scan all items, until the picklist or the selected bin group is complete and a message is shown.
Picklist: Using Transport Bins
Open the Picklist program.
Select a Picklist.
-
Enter the transport bin directly or scan it.
Only transport bins that are in the same location as the Picklist can be used.
If the Use transport bins for picking database setting is disabled, the screen for selecting transport bins is not displayed.
The transport bin is assigned to the Picklist immediately after a successful scan or entry.
The status of the Picklist changes to "In process" after the assignment.
-
When opening a Picklist:
Assigned transport bins are displayed in three lines under the item heading.
Scan-In
Using the Scan-In program you can assign the previously picked items to shipping boxes.
Items are scanned one after another and put into the displayed box.
Follow these steps to put items into a box using a picklist:
Choose Scan-In program from the list of programs.
-
Scan or enter a Transport Bin (see also Scan-In: Using Transport Bins), the Picklist Number or choose the picklist you want to work on from the list of Open Picklists.

Tip: To avoid double naming-related issues, add a prefix to all transport bin names (e.g. "tbin" -> "tbin001").
Scan the Item Barcode of the already picked items.
-
Depending on the database setting, Enter quantity on Scan-In when value is higher than you are asked to enter the quantity that should be put in the box.
If an item has the SN (Serial Number) tag assigned, the related serial number needs to be entered after the item barcode is scanned. This serial number mustn't already be used in pixi. After confirming the serial number, it is shown for the orderline in pixi Customer Service.
In the tags BBD, BN and SN are assigned to an item:-
and an EAN/UPC code is scanned:
BN and BBD are prefilled with the latest option that is in stock,
The SN field remains empty.
-
and a GS1 code is scanned:
BN and BBD are prefilled from the GS1 code data
The SN field remains empty.
-
In case the item has only BBD and BN tags assigned, the same rules apply, and only the SN input field is not displayed.
-
Now the Box is shown, where the items need to be put to. If a color code was assigned to the shipping box, it gets highlighted with this color. Additionally, this information is shown: In case the user permission Box confirmation needed was enabled, the box number must be entered to continue with the next item. If the setting is deactivated, a user can scan the next item without disabled having to press Next first. There is a small input field to the left of the Next button.
Description: Description of the shipping box from the Boxes table in pixi Control Center

Box Physically Full
During picking, you have the option to mark a box as full. This feature comes with various advantages
Warehouse pickers can mark boxes as physically full in the pixi mobile application.
External systems can generate invoices for marked boxes using the API call.
Proactive notifications are sent through messaging events, such as the BoxFull event.
The functionality currently only supports single order picklists.
Preparation
Please take note of the following preparation that needs to be completed before you can use Box physically full:
Enable database setting Box physically full
-
Create a picklist (profile) with the parameter Box physically full enabled.
This functionality currently only supports picklists with one order. The Min/Max parameters ensure that the picklist created consists of one order.
Process
The following steps outline when and where the option Box physically full is used in the warehouse:
Create a picklist (profile) with parameter Box physically full (Min/Max is automatically set)
Open pixi Mobile > Pick to Box.
Scan the picklist you generated.
Scan the item.
Scan the box.
Open the three dots menu and select Box physically full.
Pixi will now suggest a new box, which you can select. You can also scan a box manually.
Finish the picklist.
At least one item must be scanned before the functionality can be used.
Automatic invoicing does not work for such boxes. You must create the invoice manually for the box.
Reporting Shortages
You can report stock shortages in pixi Mobile from the Picklist and Pick to Box programs. To report a stock shortage:
Choose Picklist or Pick to Box program from the list of programs.
Choose the picklist you want to work on from the list of Open Picklists.
Navigate to the item for which you wish to report a shortage and tap the Report Shortage option from the three-dot menu.
Check this article to get more information about how to correct reported shortages: pixi Mobile - Inventory
Pick from Another Bin
(Pick to Box only)
If you have reported a shortage in the Pick to Box program, you can pick the missing items from an alternative bin to complete the picking process. To be able to use this functionality, the following setting must be activated in the user role:
Administration > Roles > {Role} > picco /pixi Mobile > Change Bin while picking
To pick from another bin, follow these steps:
Open the three-dot menu.
Select the Report Shortage option.
A new page will open where you can see the reported stock. Click on the Pick from other bin button at the bottom.
-
You will be shown other bins in which the item is stored. Use the toggle of a bin to tell the system from which bin you are picking the missing items, and click Continue.
Note: The list of suggested alternative bins to pick from is shown in ascending order (bin sort number), starting from the bin the shortage was reported on. The list includes all bins with low(er) bin sort numbers, as well as bins from other locations. If the warehouse is properly set up, the missing items can be picked up on the walking route through the warehouse. You can now continue picking.
Change assigned Boxes / Box Range
The assigned boxes can be changed in pixi Mobile programs Scan-In and Pick to Box.
This offers the possibilities to either assign a continuous range of boxes (e.g. 1-5) or a list of boxes (e.g. 1, 5, 7, 11).
Change Box Range
Changing the picklist's box range can be helpful to switch to another shipping station / pile of boxes in case of bottlenecks.
- A picklist's box range can be changed even if items have already been scanned into shipping boxes.
- The number of scanned boxes has to be at least equal to the number of needed boxes, but can be higher.
- If the database setting "Picklist - Overlapping boxes" is enabled, the same box range can be assigned to multiple picklists.
- If the box range for the original picklist is changed, it also changes for the linked picklists (for pick to box and scan-in)
- A box range can not be set for a picklist in case a list of boxes has already been assigned.
Follow these steps to change a picklist's box range:
Choose Scan-In or Pick to Box program from the list of programs.
Scan or enter the Picklist Number or choose the picklist you want to work on from the list of Open Picklists.
In the three dots menu tap Change Box Range or scan the barcode #boxrange in the Item Code field.
-
A new screen opens up where you can enter the following values:
From: Enter the start box of the new box range.
To: Enter the end box of the new box range. The value is automatically pre-filed but can be changed afterwards.
Tap FINISH to assign the boxes.
Change Assigned Boxes
This functionality has been designed to work with Pick to Box and helps processing a picklist using a list of boxes if a continuous empty box range can not be guaranteed.
In this case, you can assign empty boxes by entering or scanning the box number.
- The scanned boxes need to be empty.
- The number of scanned boxes has to be at least equal to the number of needed boxes, but can be higher.
- If you assigned a list of boxes, it has a priority of a box range that might be set for the picklist.
- Boxes you want to add should not be assigned to 14 other picklists.
Follow these steps to assign a list of boxes:
Choose Scan-In or Pick to Box program from the list of programs.
Scan or enter the Picklist Number or choose the picklist you want to work on from the list of Open Picklists.
In the three dots menu tap Assign Boxes or scan the barcode #boxes in the Item Code field.
-
A new screen opens up where you can enter the following values:
Box Number: Scan or enter the box number you want to add to the list of boxes.
Tap FINISH to assign the boxes.
If boxes cannot be assigned, error messages will state the reason why the assignment failed. Possible error messages are:
The box does not exist.
The box is not empty.
The box is assigned to another picklist.
Important Database Settings
Enter quantity on Scan-In when value is higher than (pixi Control Center > Database Settings > Mobile)
Value = 0: The scanned item will always be put to the next available box with quantity 1.
Value = 1: In case the to be picked quantity is bigger than 1, you are asked to enter the quantity, which should be put to box.
Value = X: Items that have a to be picked quantity up to value X are put to box in one step. If the quantity is bigger than X, you are asked to enter the quantity, which should be put to box.
Picklist - disable option to delete item from picklist (pixi Control Center > Database Settings > Mobile)
If this setting is disabled (default), you can delete the currently shown item from the picklist (e.g. it was cancelled meanwhile).
If it is enabled, users cannot delete items from the picklist.
Picklist - Confirm quantity (pixi Control Center > Database Settings > Mobile)
If this setting is enabled, the quantity of the picked item needs to be confirmed again in the pixi Mobile program Picklist.
Picklist - Overlapping boxes (pixi Control Center > Database Settings > Shipping)
Usually a boxrange can have only one active picklist. If this setting is enabled, a boxrange can have multiple picklists.
Important: Be careful with this setting, mistakes are possible.
Mobile Item Code Type
The item code type that is selected in the database setting Mobile Item Code Type displays as the primary code on Item Code fields. On expanding the view via the arrow, the rest of the codes are displayed.
Blinking for higher quantities
Here you define whether the number of items to be scanned (if greater than 1) should be highlighted by a brief flash. This setting is available for the Picklist and Pick-to-Box programs.
Reverse Picklist Order (Picklists & Pick to Box)
To reverse the picklist order, follow these steps:
Open the three dots menu in the top right corner of the screen.
Choose Reverse Picklist Order.
-
When the order was reversed, a confirmation message is displayed and the following icon is displayed next to the picklist number
.
Note: If the picking order was reversed in Picklist, it is not reversed in Pick to Box. (Optional) Via the three dots menu, the picking order can be reset to default. A confirmation message will be displayed.
Filter Options (Picklists & Pick to Box)
The filter options allow users to narrow down the pick list efficiently:
Status: Open: Use this to show only picklists that have not been started yet.
Example: A warehouse supervisor wants to see which picklists still need to be assigned to pickers at the start of a shift.
Status: In Progress: Use this to show only picklists that have already been started but are not finished yet.
Example: A team lead wants to check which picklists are currently being worked on, so they can monitor progress and decide whether extra support is needed.
Status: Closed: Use this to show only picklists that have already been completed.
Example: A warehouse supervisor wants to review all completed picklists at the end of the shift to confirm that the orders were picked and processed successfully.
1SS: Use this to work only with 1SS picklists and ignore the rest.
Example: A picker is responsible only for 1SS orders today, so they apply this filter to avoid seeing standard or other picklist types.
High Volume 1SS: Use this to quickly identify and process high-volume 1SS picklists.
Example: The team wants to prioritize large 1SS orders before the carrier pickup deadline, so they filter for high-volume 1SS picklists first.
Exclude Shortage: Use this to hide picklists that contain items with reported stock shortages. This helps warehouse teams focus on picklists that are ready for processing and avoid interruptions during picking.
Example: A picker needs to complete as many ready-to-pick orders as possible, so they exclude picklists with missing stock and avoid orders that would require investigation.
Comment: Use this to find picklists that include a note or specific instruction.
Example: A team lead added a comment such as “Check packaging before picking” or “Customer requested urgent processing,” and the picker uses this filter to find those picklists quickly.
