Depending on the use case, you can configure pixi* Invoices in different ways, in order to send invoices to end customers as PDF, printed or both ways.
By configuring pixi* Invoices the appropriate way, you can achieve different scenarios.
Save a copy of invoice as PDF file to this folder: If you enable this setting, invoices will be saved to the folder defined below.
Save invoice as PDF to document storage: If this setting is enabled, invoices will be uploaded to the document storage.
Don't print pixi* invoice when saving the invoice as PDF: If this setting is enabled, invoices won't be printed if they are saved to the above-defined folder.
Using printing rules, several other scenarios can be realized. For example, you can define that B2B customers will only get invoice documents via e-mail. You can achieve this by setting up printing rules for the appropriate shop.

Warning: Please note that Adobe Acrobat Reader is needed for printing invoice documents that are downloaded from the document storage.
Invoice via E-Mail & Paper Invoice
If you want to send PDF invoices via e-mail to your customers and additionally put them printed to the package, configure the settings as follows:
Setting |
Status |
pixi* Invoices Log |
Save invoice as PDF to document storage |
ON |
|
Don't print pixi* invoice when saving the invoice as PDF |
OFF |
Depending on which documents should be printed and put to the package, at least the following templates need to be available in the templates folder:
"Shop short code"_PDF.rtm: for uploading the invoice to the document storage
"Shop short code"_credit_PDF.rtm: for uploading the credit to the document storage
"Shop short code".rtm: for printing the invoice

Additionally, you need to enable attaching PDF invoice documents to e-mails. Proceed as described in this pixi*pedia article: Send PDF Invoices via E-Mail
Invoice via E-Mail & Paper Delivery Note
If you want to send PDF invoices to your customers and only put the delivery note to the package, configure the settings as follows:
Setting |
Status |
pixi* Invoices Log |
Save invoice as PDF to document storage |
ON |
|
Don't print pixi* invoice when saving the invoice as PDF |
OFF |
With this configuration, invoices' documents are saved on the document storage - invoices are still printed. In order to only print the delivery note, additional steps need to be taken.
Remove all templates for the selected shop except the delivery note template, which is named "Shop short code"_ps.rtm (e.g., DEM_ps.rtm) by default, and the template that is needed for uploading to the document storage and therefore being sent to the customer.
Afterward, rename the delivery note template "Shop short code"_ps.rtm, so it is recognized as the invoice template by pixi* Invoices. Simply remove the "_ps" suffix from its name.
The templates folder should now contain at least these:
"Shop short code"_PDF.rtm: for uploading the invoice to the document storage
"Shop short code"_credit_PDF.rtm: for uploading the credit to the document storage
"Shop short code".rtm: for printing the delivery note (was "Shop short code"_ps.rtm before)
In this case, the delivery note template is used for the invoice printing instead of the actual default invoice template. Other documents won't be printed. The invoice will be uploaded to the document storage as PDF and sent to the customer via e-mail. The delivery note was put to the package.

Only Invoice via E-Mail
If you only want to send PDF invoice documents to your customers, configure the settings as follows:
Setting |
Status |
pixi* Invoices Log |
Save invoice as PDF to document storage |
ON |
|
Don't print pixi* invoice when saving the invoice as PDF |
ON |
Although end customers should only get documents via e-mail, something needs to tell you that a shipping box is full and can be shipped. For this, you can print a small label as soon as a box is complete. You then put this label to the box instead of the invoice/packing slip. The items can then be put into the package and the label can be stuck onto it. When doing the ship-out, you only need to scan the barcode from the label.
You can find example templates for different label sizes here:
As in the previous example, you need to rename the downloaded template into the invoice template.
Depending on which documents should be printed and put to the package, at least the following templates need to be available in the templates folder:
"Shop short code"_PDF.rtm: for uploading the invoice to the document storage
"Shop short code"_credit_PDF.rtm: for uploading the credit to the document storage
"Shop short code".rtm: for printing the label (instead of the invoice template)

pixi* Invoices Log |

|
Don't print pixi* invoice when saving the invoice as PDF |

"Shop short code".rtm: for printing the invoice
