A bundle can be defined in pixi to assign several physically existing items in pixi to a set of items (for example, a set consisting of different items in your online shop). The customer orders a set (bundle) in your shop and pixi knows the actual required items, which then appear on the picklist and are managed in the inventory.
The item can then be shown on the invoice and in the pixi Auto-Emails again.
Creating the bundle items happens in the shop and these are imported into pixi. Creating a bundle requires creating a parent item. This parent item is passed to pixi when a bundle is sold. In pixi the items contained in the set are assigned to the parent item and thus picked in the later shipping process.
Set or bundle items in pixi have no physical stock, as they consist of the individual items defined in the bundle.
Configuration
To create or edit a bundle in pixi, the user must have "Edit Bundle in Item Info" permission. This can be set in the pixi User Administration. All users can see bundles in the item info.
There are two different ways to handle bundles, which are defined by the setting Process bundled items as normal items in the pixi Control Center > Database Settings tab > General folder:
OFF: If a customer orders a bundle in the Web shop 5 times, the order is automatically imported into pixi, whereby each individual item of the bundle is contained in 5 order lines. This also means that each individual item of the bundle must be scanned separately during the scan-in in the pixi Shipping application. On the invoice, the same bundle is displayed 5 times with quantity 1. If you wanted to manually create an order in pixi Customer Service and add the bundle 5 times to this order, you'll need to add the same bundle 5 times. Each individual item of the bundle is recorded on every 5 individual order lines. Quantity or price of the individual items could not be changed.
ON: [RECOMMENDED] If a customer orders a bundle in the Web shop 5 times, the order is automatically imported into pixi, with each individual item being recorded as a single order line with its cumulative total. During the shipping process, you need to scan each item only once and confirm the amount. On the invoice, Bundle X is shown only once with Q = 5. If you create an order manually in pixi Customer Service and want to add it to the bundle 5 times, you only need to add the bundle once and then set the amount of the entire bundle, i. e. at the parent item's level, to 5. Each individual item in the bundle is listed as a single order line with a total cumulative total. You can adjust both the amount and the price of the entire bundle.
In the following it is assumed that the above option is set to ON.
You can choose how bundles are printed on the invoices and displayed in the auto emails DLY and DLF. To do this, set the Print bundles on invoices setting in the pixi Control Center > Database Settings tab > Invoices folder to:
OFF: Identify individual items (each item in the bundle will be printed on the invoice).
ON: Identify bundle (only the name of the bundle will be printed on the invoice).
Bundle Attributes
Bundles come in pixi with the following attributes:
A bundle is a "virtual" item of the item type "bundle" and contains the actual items (the "bundled" items)
A bundle can contain any number and quantity of items.
A bundle has no physical inventory - instead, it displays the available inventory resulting from the inventory of individual items.
A bundle can't be stored.
A bundle can never be empty - it must at least consist of an item with the quantity 1.
A bundle can't contain another bundle.
The individual items can also be sold separately.
Bundles are imported into pixi via the item import or created manually in pixi.
In the item list of the item management of the pixi web application, bundles are marked with the symbol to enable you to find and identify the bundles. In addition, items that are part of one or more bundles are also marked with an icon
.
Detailed information about bundles and bundle items is available in the item info. The Bundle tab lists all items that are contained in a bundle or all bundles that contain the respective item. In addition, stock level information is displayed. For the bundle, the stock is calculated from those of the individual items. For example, if a bundle consists of an item A with an available stock of 20 pieces and three items B with an available stock of 30 pieces, the available stock level for the entire bundle is 10 pieces.

Examples of Bundles
In pixi, you can create different types of bundles. For this example, you have the following items in your warehouse:
Item 1: Wicker basket
Item 2: Champagne
Item 3: Chocolate
These items are in stock and are sold as regular items. In addition, you can sell it as a bundle, e. g. as a gift basket. For this purpose create a virtual item, the bundle "Gift Basket" and add the items in any combination (e. g. 1x wicker basket, 1x champagne, 2x chocolate). You can also create bundles to promote the sale of individual items, such as the bundle "chocolate bomb", consisting of 3 pieces of the item chocolate.
A bundle can also be a set of components that together make up a product. These items can't be sold separately because they only work together. So the bundle "dining table" can consist of three items:
Bundle 1: dining table
Item 1: 1x table top
Item 2: 4x table leg
Item 3: 1x bag of screws
You can also use bundles to help customers better identify a product and get better page ranking in search engines. For example, you offer a protective cover for the item "mobile phone". This case is suitable for every variant of the item "mobile phone": black and white, with 16, 32 or 64 GB memory. Instead of offering this product as a standard variant only (protective case for mobile phone), create the following bundles:
Bundle 1: Protective cover for black mobile phone with 16 GB memory
Bundle 2: Protective cover for black mobile phone with 32 GB of memory
Bundle 3: Protective cover for black mobile phone with 64 GB memory
Bundle 4: Protective cover for white mobile phone with 16 GB of memory
Bundle 5: Protective cover for white mobile phone with 32 GB of memory
Bundle 6: Protective case for white mobile phone with 64 GB memory
All of these bundles contain the actual item (protective case for mobile phone) that has a stock and is shipped when any of the above bundles are ordered.
Creation and Editing of Bundles
An items set or bundles, which consist of several individual items, must be defined separately in pixi. The following German video briefly explains how to define a bundle in the pixi Goods Receipt and add the individual items:
pixi Web
How to create a bundle:
Open the Item Details of the item you want to set as bundle.
Click Set as Bundle in the Toolbar > More.
The item was set as a bundle and a new
icon is displayed in front of the item name. Now, add the appropriate items to the created bundle.
How to add or remove items to or from a bundle:
To add one or more items to a bundle, switch to the Bundle tab in the Item Details.
With the help of the button
Add Item you can now add the corresponding items of the bundle. It is not possible to add another bundle to a bundle. The amount of the item in the bundle can be changed directly in the table. Please note that it is not possible to change a bundle if a customer order already exists for this bundle.
If you want to remove individual items of a bundle, then use the button

If you want to remove individual items of a bundle, then use the button Delete in the Bundle Item tab.
How to revert a bundle back to a regular item:
In the Item Info tab, open the Item Attributes in the General tab and change the type to normal.
If individual items are still stored for the bundle concerned, you will receive the following warning:
Note: An item that has already been used in an order cannot be turned into a bundle. Only “fresh” items can be converted. Additionally, the item must have no stock available.
Bundles in pixi Customer Service
Display
In an order in the pixi Customer Service > tab F7 - Orders, the name of the bundle is displayed and the individual item order lines are displayed as a drill-down menu and can be expanded if necessary.
By clicking on the + symbol you can display the individual items of the bundle.
The columns "HAL" and "Reservations Total" are always 0, since a calculation of these columns does not provide information about the actual availability of the bundle.
The columns "Box No.", "Shipping on" and "Item note" are also displayed. If not all columns are displayed, change the column widths until the columns are visible.
Note: If the column + is not shown, then the view must be reset via the menu Tools > Reset Interface.
Status
The status of the bundle always corresponds with the last status change of the individual items. If the status of individual items is different, the background of the status icon of the parent item is displayed in yellow.
Note: If individual items of a bundle are returned, only order lines of these individual items will be given the status RET. The status of the parent item or bundle remains AUS.
The order line history is stored for each item in the bundle. The order line history of the bundle shows the last change of a single item.

Editing of Price or Quantity of Bundles in Customer Orders
It is possible to change both the quantity and the price of a bundle in the order:
If you change the quantity of a bundle, the amount of the associated individual items is automatically adjusted.
If you change the price of the bundle, this also affects the prices of the individual items, since these are calculated proportionally.
If you manually change the price of the bundle, the price of the individual items is automatically recalculated because
The invoice can be printed as an itemized list of individual items.
Single items can be exchanged or returned.
pixi calculates the price of the individual items in proportion to the bundle price as follows:
Price of the single item = (price of the bundle / sum of all single item prices) * original item price
Example:
The price of the bundle is 30 €
The bundle consists of 2 different individual items:
Item A has the original price of € 20 and is included once in the bundle.
Item B has the original price of € 10 and is included twice in the bundle.
The sum of the prices of the individual items in the bundle amounts to (20 * 1) + (10 * 2) = 40 €
Automatically calculated price for single item A: 30/40 * 20 = 15 €
Automatically calculated price for single item B: 30/40 * 10 = 7,5 €
Calculation of the bundle price: (15 * 1) + (7,5 * 2) = 30 €
Rounding the price
Sometimes the price of an itemized order line of the bundle can't be rounded exactly to 2 or 4 decimal places. In this case, a single item is recorded in a separate order line and receives a different price than the remaining individual items from the bundle. This procedure is necessary to ensure that no rounding differences occur.
Example 1: B2C Order (Gross prices)
The gross price of the bundle is € 30,99.
The bundle contains an item A with quantity 18.
-
The gross price of a bundle item is calculated as follows:
30,99 € / 18 = 1,7216666666666 ~ 1,7217 €
-
The reverse calculation shows that due to the rounding, not all the bundle items can have the same price:
1,7217 € * 18 = 30.9906 €
-
30,9906 € is greater than 30,99 €, so an order line split must take place.
There are 2 bundle item lines. Line 1 with quantity 17 and line 2 with quantity 1.Line 1: The price of bundle items with quantity 17 has already been calculated previously and amounts to 1.7217 €.
Line 2: The price of the bundle item with quantity 1 is calculated as follows:
30,99 € - (17 * 1,7217 €) = 1,7211 €
-
The gross price of the bundle is thus composed of:
17 * 1,7217 € + 1 * 1,7211 € = 30,99 €
Example 2: B2B Order (Net prices)
The net price of the bundle is 26,04 €.
The bundle contains an item A with quantity 18.
-
The net price of a bundle item is calculated as follows:
26,04 € / 18 = 1,446666666666 ~ 1,4467 €
-
The reverse calculation shows that due to the rounding, not all the bundle items can have the same price:
1,4467 € * 18 = 26,0406 €
-
26,0406 €is greater than 26,04 €, so an order line split must take place.
There are 2 bundle item lines. Line 1 with quantity 17 and line 2 with quantity 1.Line 1: The price of bundle items with quantity has already been calculated previously and amounts to 1,4467 €.
Line 2: The price of the bundle item with quantity 1 is calculated as follows:
26,04 € - (17 * 1,4467 €) = 1,4461 €
-
The net price of the bundle is thus composed of:
17 * 1,4467 € + 1 * 1,4461 € = 26,04 €

The setting Print bundles on invoices in the pixi Control Center > Database Settings tab> Invoices folder defines the way bundles are considered when printing invoices.
If the setting is set to ON (show bundles on the invoice), the bundle is specified as a single line with the quantity and price ordered on the invoice.
If the setting is set to OFF (show individual bundle items on the invoice), the individual items of the bundle will be printed with the order quantity and the pro rata price.
Shipping of Bundles
Separation of order lines during Scan-In
If you scan only a subset of a single item for a box, the order line for the item will be split.
Example: The quantity of an order line for a single item of a bundle is 10. 6 items are scanned for the corresponding box. The original order line is divided into an order line with the status ON (quantity = 6) and an order line with the status ANG (quantity = 4).
Scanning single item
If the database setting Scan-In - Enter quantity when value is higher than in the pixi Control Center > tab Database Settings > Folder shipping is set to "0", then the individual items of a bundle must be scanned one after the other and placed in the appropriate box.
Bundle items with serial numbers
Bundle items with serial numbers must be scanned one after the other into the box in pixi shipping, as the serial number must be entered individually for each item.
Partial delivery of bundles
The setting Ship complete bundles only (pixi * Control Center > Tab Database Settings > Folder Shipping) influences the picklist creation as explained in the following example.
Example: A bundle consists of item A and item B, each with quantity 1. Item A is 1x in stock, item B is 2x. So only 1 complete bundle is available. If a customer has ordered the bundle 2x, the picklist contains the following according to the setting:
Items on the picklist |
||
Picklist parameters for partial delivery |
"Bundles: Ship complete bundles only" = ON |
"Bundles: Ship complete bundles only" = OFF |
Include partial deliveries = OFF, |
none |

Item B with quantity 2 (only the single item is considered, which can be completely shipped) |
Include partial deliveries = AN, |
Item A with quantity 1, Item B with quantity 1 (a complete bundle) |
Item A with quantity 1, item B with quantity 2 (available quantity of all single items is shipped) |
The activation of partial deliveries via the Ship now button in the pixi Customer Service has priority over the setting Ship complete bundles only and pixi ships, what can be shipped at the moment.
