Short Description
The Stock Range report calculates how long the available physical stock will last based on past sales.
Identify slow-moving items based on sales figures and current stock levels, and evaluate stock turnover rates – this allows you to reduce excess inventory. To specifically detect such slow movers, pixi offers the Stock Range report.
Open Controlling > Reports and create a profile (the report is located in the Logistics report group). Then generate the report.
Available Parameters
Calculation period in days: Specify how many days in the past should be considered for sales data.
Example: If you enter "60", the report will include all item sales from the last 60 days.Location: Select the location to be evaluated. If no location is selected, items from all locations will be included in the report.
Category: You can filter the report by a specific category. If no category is selected, all categories will be considered.
Supplier: You can filter the report by a specific supplier. If no supplier is selected, items from all suppliers will be included.
Placed into Stock before X days: This filter allows you to exclude newly stocked items from the calculation.
Example: You receive a new item that was stocked just a week ago but is not yet active in the shop and therefore not available for sale. If you enter "30", only items that were stocked more than 30 days ago will be included.
After generating the report, the results are sorted in descending order by stock range. The stock range is shown in days.
Results
Stock: The stock value in this report reflects the physical stock quantity without reservations.
Sold: The number of items sold during the selected period.
Stock Range: The stock range of an item is influenced by its stock turnover. A high stock range indicates a low stock turnover.
Example: Stock Range of Items
You currently have 10 units of an item in stock and have sold it once over the past 10 days. This results in a stock range of 100 days (average sales of 0.1 units per day).
Items that are in stock but have not been sold at all during the selected period are displayed with a stock range of 9,999 days.
What to do with slow-moving items?
The simplest option is to sell old stock through your own shop. Many of our customers use an External Shop or Outlet category to offer these items at reduced prices. Another alternative is to sell them via auction platforms such as eBay.
So go ahead and tackle those slow movers!
