This guide provides an overview of how tag imports from plentyONE to pixi are configured, including how changes or deletions to tags are handled and other important details.
Activating Tag Import from plentyONE
To activate the tag import from plentyONE, follow these steps:
Open Control Center.
Go to Import and Export > Options...
Under Configuration > Integrations & Import/Export Channels click Edit.
Select your plentyONE channel click Edit.
In the Edit/Add new channel pop-up click Next until you reach the list of channel settings.
Scroll to Import Item and order tags and enter "1" to activate the setting.
Click Next and then Save.
(Optional) Activate plentyONE as Main Source for Tags
The database setting Plenty is Main for Tags allows plentyONE to remove and update tags in pixi even if those tags are also used on non-plentyONE items/orders. This setting applies only to tags that originated from plentyONE. To enable the setting:
Open Control Center.
Go to Database Settings > Imports 2.0 > Plenty is Main for Tags.
Activate the setting by placing the checkmark.
Tag Creation in plentyONE
Tags that are created in plentyONE can be imported for orders and items. In plentyONE tags must be created as
Variation tags to be Item tags in pixi
Order tags to be Order tags in pixi
For tag types in plentyONE, a single plentyONE tag can be flagged as Variation, Order or both. Please keep in mind that pixi treats item tags and order tags separately. That means, if a plentyONE tag is flagged as both Variation and Order, pixi creates two tags (one item-tag and one order-tag) with the same name, because pixi separates item and order tags.
When you create a tag in plentyONE, note that pixi tags have a limitation on name length. pixi tag names are limited to 50 characters. Longer names that are imported from plentyONE are truncated on import.
Importing Tags
The import of tags runs automatically via pixi integration service. For that reason, most changes appear in pixi within a few seconds of being saved in plentyONE. For tags, note that the import runs only if the tag is assigned to at least one variation (item) and/or order in plentyONE. Unused tags in the plentyONE system are ignored. For order tags to arrive, the order typically needs to be in an exportable status in plentyONE.
If you make any changes to the import channel settings, you do not need to restart (disable and enable the channel) after you made changes. All tags are visible in Administration > Tags.
The screenshots display a tag that is assigned to an order in plentyONE. The tag is displayed on either the Order in pixi or in the Tags overview page under Administration.
Importing pixi System Tags
plentyONE tags can be imported as pixi system tags when named precisely:
-
Use the prefix "Pixi tag" followed by the exact pixi system tag name, for example:
Pixi tag Batch number
Pixi tag Best before date
If a tag is imported that does not match the system tags (e.g., Pixi tag red), the tag is not imported as a system tag and is ignored for that purpose.
General Importing Behavior for Changed or Deleted Tags

Troubleshooting
If a tag you expect in pixi isn’t visible, please check the following:
The integration service for plentyONE is running.
Channel setting Import Item and order tags is activated.
The tag in plentyONE is flagged correctly as Variation (for items) and/or Order (for orders).
The tag is assigned to at least one variation/order in plentyONE.
For system tags, the name follows "Pixi tag <Exact System Tag Name>".
For orders, confirm the order is in an exportable plentyONE status.
Ensure that the item or order you are looking has its origin in plentyONE.
If deletions/renames don’t behave as you expect, check whether the tag is also assigned to non-plentyONE items/orders in pixi and whether “Use plenty as main source” is enabled/disabled.
FAQ
Can I export tags from pixi to plentyONE?
No. The tag flow is one-way: from plentyONE to pixi.
Is a restart of the service necessary when I change the “Import item and order tags” channel setting?
No. Changes are visible in real-time.
Why did a renaming in plentyONE create a second tag in pixi?
The original tag was used on non-plentyONE items/orders in pixi. To avoid breaking those, pixi keeps the original and creates a new tag for the plentyONE rename.
Why was a tag deleted in pixi even though “Use plenty as main source” is OFF?
That tag existed only on plentyONE-derived data. When it was removed in plentyONE, pixi removed it too since it had no non-plentyONE usage.
