Shipping Bulk Items with Mobile Ship-Out


Mobile Ship-Out lets you print shipping labels for bulk items directly during the Pick to Box process. This is useful for large or heavy items that you don't want to move to a separate shipping station after picking.


Preparation

Before you can use Mobile Ship-Out, Descartes pixi Support must enable the feature for your account. You also need to configure the qualifying items, picklist and shipping-label printer.

  1. Your shipping software must be Descartes ShipRush.

  2. Contact Descartes pixi Support to enable the Mobile: Ship-Out feature. This setting is off by default.

  3. Assign the Mobile Ship-Out system tag to each item that should use Mobile Ship-Out.

  4. Make sure the Integration Service System and message event ScanInBoxFull are set up and running.

  5. In the Item Tags section of the picklist configuration, enable Use Mobile Ship-Out functionality for the picklist or picklist profile.

  6. Configure the mobile device by selecting a shipping-label printer so labels can print directly from the aisle.


Info:

  • The shipping label printer is set once per mobile device and cannot be changed during the process.

  • Shipping weight is taken from the item data automatically and cannot be entered manually.

  • Shipping vendor and package type cannot be changed during the process.


Using Mobile: Ship-Out (Workflow)

To use Mobile: Ship-Out:

  1. Open Pick to Box.

  2. Open a Picklist that has the indicator Mobile Ship-Out orders.

  3. Scan your bulk item. Check if the tag Mobile: Ship-Out is assigned. Note that bulk items are always scanned at a quantity of one - an order for three of the same bulk item requires scanning and labeling each one individually.

  4. The label is printed on the printer you set up in your mobile device settings. Attach the label to the package and confirm via Label Attached.

Invoices and Mobile: Ship-Out

When you scan the first Mobile Ship-Out item for an order, pixi creates a draft invoice which is visible in Invoices and Credits on pixi Web. The draft invoice allows pixi to create the invoice package, package lines and other data needed during Mobile Ship-Out processing.

Each processed bulk item receives its own package. The draft invoice remains in place while items for the order are still being processed.

When you scan the final item for the order, pixi converts the draft invoice into the completed invoice.
